NOW HIRING: Dairy Operations Manager/Director

We are now looking for an experienced, hands-on leader to take over day to day operations from the founder.

Working in very close partnership with Production side of the business, this role is all about maintaining and improving day to day operations within the framework of our ethical and sustainable value set.   

The successful candidate will be someone who has a very strong eye for detail and is happy executing day to day tasks while also thriving on solving the strategic operational problems of a growing small business.    

Tactical responsibilities include:

  • end to end order management, including packing for delivery 
  • facility management (all aspects)
  • staff scheduling
  • financial oversight including invoicing & mgmt of bookkeeping relationship (external)
  • production forecasting & scheduling (in partnership with peer on production side)
  • interfacing with with founder (on limited basis) to ensure day to day is on track 
  • Problem solving

On the strategy side, here is a fantastic opportunity to focus your experience on improving order processes, expanding our distribution network and leading the effort to move us to a new facility (required in next 12-18 months).  The founder will transition into a sales & marketing focussed role once the successful candidate it up to speed, so the challenge of ensuring operations keep pace with production requirements should be something that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in small-scale food manufacturing & distribution. Experience with cold chain & perishable goods strongly preferred.   However, if you are willing to get stuck in, career changers with a solid business background are more than welcome to apply.  Key skills & attributes:

NOW HIRING: Cheese making/Dairy Assistants (shift basis)

 Interested in making cheese?  This is a great way to get hands on experience.  We need regular Dairy Assistants to assist with production. It is physical work and you need to be comfortable with working with your body and hands.    You help with busiest part of the cheese making process (milling curd, salting and moulding) as well as do a lot of cleaning.   You get good exposure to how a small dairy works and we really like everyone to contribute not just labour, but ideas and opinions on the process.  A sense of humour is vital and you need to be very detail oriented.    

While occasional workers will be considered, we really want folks who will commit to at least 1 day per week for at least 6 months.   Our current schedule is as follows (note that all times are approximate):

  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 10.30am – 6pm (approximate)
  • Thursday 7.30am-3pm (approximate)

The role pays £8.75/hour.  Wage increases to £10.20/hour with additional time commitments & responsibilities.  Please email your CV to
